Do you want to teach digital government and AI but don't know where to start?

You're not alone. Fewer than 30 percent of masters-level public affairs programmes in the US and Europe offer a course on digital government or AI, even as these topics become central to how governments work.

This half-day online masterclass is designed for educators who want to change that. You'll leave with practical, ready-to-use teaching materials, hands-on experience with classroom exercises and the confidence to bring digital and AI topics into your courses. No technical background is required.

Key highlights

  • Walk away with ready to use teaching materials

  • Learn from world experts in digital government and AI education

  • Tackle your real teaching challenges live, with peers from around the world

  • Zero technical background required

What you’ll learn

Dr Amanda Clarke

Teaching digital government
Dr Amanda Clarke leads the first half on teaching digital government. She will walk through the core concepts public servants need to understand, including digital-era government, how digital systems work, iteration, user focus and data, with a focus on how to teach each one to non-technical students. This includes a live tour of the TPSDA open-access syllabus materials, a lesson plan template and time in small groups to work through your own teaching challenges with peers.
Dr Mila Gascó Hernandez
Part two
Dr Mila Gascó Hernandez
SUNY Albany
AI in the public sector
Dr Mila Gascó Hernandez leads the second half on AI in the public sector. She will cover how governments are using AI, the governance and accountability challenges this raises and how to bring AI into your classroom without technical expertise, including sample lesson plans, classroom exercises and practical guidance on teaching with AI tools. Again, there will be structured small-group discussion time built in.
